Work Immersion Day 2: Careers and Job Opportunities in the Field of Accountancy

As we progress our webinar activities, We have started our specialized webinars; Accountancy-centered webinars began last May 13, 2022.

It is not a secret that Accountancy is indeed the type that will make you run towards the other side of the line, not only because of the board exam but also because of how rigorous it is as a field of study.

Our Speaker, Mr. Dorongon, is not only a Certified Public Accountant but is also a Licensed Professional Teacher that also has multiple post-graduate degrees. He emphasized that Accountancy is not hard but is all just about analysis.

He said that many board exam takers often fail the board exam for Accountancy because they lack preparation. Reviewing basic English is also crucial preparation, as per Mr. Dorongon, as he cites this as one of the major factors one does in failing the exam; many takers often misunderstand the exam questions, causing them to wrongly answer. Perseverance, Patience, Enthusiasm, and Determination are the values you need in studying Accountancy. The moment you enter Accountancy school, your review should start simultaneously. Discipline from Day 1 is necessary and will matter to your future.

In choosing the right university to study Accountancy, you have to remember that these universities will cost as much due to their competency and namesake. Many universities and colleges with prestigious standing and ranking are expensive or competitive to enter.

After your university life, do not worry about your future career opportunities. Upon finishing Accountancy, you are already equipped with all the fundamental knowledge needed to operate internally on any business possible. Most (if not all) enterprises prefer Accountancy graduates even for non-accounting related jobs. As the economy grows, the demand for employment and those Accountants are more likely to heighten. Accounting graduates can audit, bookkeep, find their own clients, and even assist in accounting matters. But if you pass the CPA Licensure Exam, you can additionally certify and sign documents legally as you are now licensed to do so.

Non-CPA Accountants are also successful in life; Mr. Dorongon cited a friend of his who is not a board passer but still manages to earn more money than licensed because she is eager and competent enough to do work that she learned how to handle from studying accountancy.

Accountancy is not dull; the stigma of being boring is just a cliche cycle that any working individual may find themselves with. Different work environments can contribute to the variety of work cycles an accountant can experience. You can find treasure in repetitive work and slowly discover new things.

Invest your time and dedicate yourself to Accounting. Let me cite what Mr. Dorongon said, "Once na kayo ay making dedicated and have the mindset to be a successful person to your friends, families, and others, you have already started the review for the board exam. Myths like eating peanuts to pass an exam are not true; reviewing from day 1 of school is the key to success."

Faith, Little knowledge, and Luck are the three things you need to be a CPA. For luck, you have to trust in the power of prayers, as prayers can move mountains.
